The application enables precise measurement of spectral intensity using the camera features of an iPhone or iPad, in conjunction with a spectrometer.

To capture a spectrum image, access the camera and press the photo button. Ensure that any reflected light falls within the designated dark rectangle on the upper part of the camera screen. Users utilizing iPadOS 13 should open the Control Center and select the "Lock Orientation" option to maintain a stable capture area for spectral imaging.

After capturing an image, press the graph button to visualize the light intensity distribution derived from the spectrum image. The red (R), green (G), and blue (B) values are calculated as the average from the central quarter width of the captured spectral image. It is advisable to adjust the intensity of the incoming light by narrowing the slit to prevent any color value from exceeding 255. The cumulative value of R+G+B is presented in black on the graph. Users may also adjust the scale of spectral intensity utilizing the designated buttons.

For detailed wavelength analysis, pressing the plot button allows users to slide the upper spectral image horizontally to specify two points with known wavelengths, facilitating wavelength scaling. When setting R0 as reflected light at 0 nm and defining R1 during initial setup only, subsequent settings can establish a wavelength scale based on R0. Captured plots can be saved as images with their corresponding wavelength scale, allowing for smooth connection of intensity curves across sensitivity regions for R, G, and B.

As a critical safety note, users must avoid direct exposure to strong light sources, such as sunlight, while using this application to protect both their eyesight and the device's camera.
